Forget the Politics, eLearning goes to the top!

Forget the politics, it was a highlight of my career to be introduced to the Prime Minister, Julia Gillard. She came to Adelaide in October 2010 to award $2.53m to the South Australian Fire and Emergency Services Commission for their E-mergency Connect project. The bulk of the funding was for the development and implementation of eLearning to support the training of volunteers in the State Emergency Service and the Country Fire Service. It was an exciting day for SAFECOM, and for me. I was a key facilitator for the funding, drafting the overall eLearning strategy that was supported by the Federal Government and working closely with consultants to finalise the application. Funding came for the Digital Regions Initiative and was aimed at leveraging off the National Broadband Network.(http://www.dbcde.gov.au/funding_and_programs/digital_regions_initiative/e-mergency_connect)

I hope this is a sign for good things coming eLearning’s way!
